Having been involved in drumming and music for more than 20 years now, I’m very fortunate to say that music is my career.

I started playing the drums at the age of ten, and started performing from eleven. A general love of music has enabled me to study many different styles and given me a greater understanding overall which has really helped my drumming. Performing in many different bands/ acts across rock, pop, funk, latin and big band has been a fantastic experience and has allowed me to grow my music influences and bring all of my knowledge and experience into each genre.

I am currently the house drummer from the ‘Let’s Rock 80’s’ festivals, performing all around the UK with varying acts such as Belinda Carlisle, Jason Donovan, Paul Young and Jimmy Sommerville. Playing in front of thousands of people with such great names is a real honour and one that I look forward to every summer.

One of the artists that I am lucky enough to have been involved with thanks to ‘Let’s Rock’ is Nick Heyward, and I am currently his musical director and drummer.

Whilst playing in front of thousands is a real thrill, getting the chance to play small, intimate venues with the fantastic jazz singer Purdy is a genuine treat. Knowing that each member of the audience has a fantastic knowledge of music and is able to appreciate (and scrutinise) the work behind the drums.

My musical journey and learning is far from complete and I truly believe that you can never stop learning. Over the past ten years I have had the pleasure of studying and learning from well respected and known drummers such as Ralph Salmins, Neal Wilkinson, JoJo Mayer, Billy Ward, Frank Tontoh, Pete Ray Biggin and Geoff Dunn.

Musical education is something that I am very passionate about, and as a qualified drum teacher, this is something that I strive to pass on to all of my students. If you would like more information about my teaching methods and availability, please click here.
